LAW LISTS TO THE RESCUE

911 to the rescue or should we say LAW LIST to the rescue? How can the law list publishers help your firm? Bring your needs and let the lists provide you with alternative solutions. We will engage with a panel to bring forth day-to-day obstacles that our members face. We will define conflicts, address delisting of attorneys, offer bonding information, share vetting processes and teach best practices, such as how to deal with retirement of an attorney(s) and problem areas of service. So, don't wait, start to jot down your points of discussion!

Panelists: American Lawyers Quarterly, General Bar, The Forwarders List and Wright Holmes.

THINGS ARE “A-CHANGIN”

DON’T miss out on this dynamic session! Where is your next new client coming from? Where is the industry headed? Attendees will learn how business are evolving and be introduced to new industries and their collection needs. Cannabis and Artificial Intelligence are examples. The session will dive deep and discuss how representing entities in new industries may negatively impact your firm and how it could put you in “bad” light with certain clients. How could you overcome that obstacle? Join in at this cutting-edge session!

UTILIZING THE LATEST TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION: A “HOW TO”

So, you want to start using text messaging or another technological innovation… You ask, “How do I do that?” and “How does it integrate with my current system(s) and processes?” This session, presented by CCA of A’s Future Leaders in Collections (FLIC), will focus on best practices in integrating new technologies into your practice. Join us for a cutting-edge discussion.

LIABILITIES OF A WORK FROM HOME MODEL

Is the pendulum swinging back? Is working from home still seen as an advantage by employees? What are the disadvantages so long after Covid? How are the firms which allow employees to work from home addressing individual state regulations? We will give an update on which states allow and disallow branch office licensing.

Exploring more: How are firms gauging collector performance at home? Hear real-time monitoring success stories. In a post-Covid era, what should companies consider when changing their models?

STRAIGHT FROM THE INDUSTRIES WE SERVE - CREDIT GRANTOR PANEL

Gather insight directly from practitioners in the industries we serve. Credit grantors will share the criteria they place in high regard when partnering with a third-party receivable collection source. How do they rate/score agencies? This will be an opportune time to ask your questions. We will explore the issue of credit policy versus collection policy in depth with the credit grantors and hear their thoughts on lawsuit thresholds, as well as witness availability.

ECONOMIC UPDATE

With an eye on the impact of the current inflationary levels, this session’s takeaways will include an understanding of what is inside and behind the different measures of inflation and how they are behaving, as well as a discussion of growth in the GDP. Dr. Isberg will address the nature and consequences of the monetization of the economy, as well as address current trends with a special focus on manufacturing-a sector of the market which is important to the collection industry.

Speaker: Steven C. Isberg, PhD Senior Fellow, Credit Research Foundation and Chair, Department of Accounting, College of Business and Economics, Towson University
